BUDGET:
Total - $58,000
I have a very important and personal request to make. There is an ancient Jewish custom to give charity on Yom Kippur. We are taught in the holy teachings of Kabbalah, that by us showing kindness to others we draw down immense blessings into our lives. Every year following the holy prayer of Kol Nidrei, a Kol Nidrei Appeal is made to support the vital outreach and synagogue programs of Chabad of West Hills. This year's appeal will be held online and in advance of Kol Nidrei services. As we do each year, pledges and donations will be printed and placed in the Holy Ark for the duration of Yom Kippur.
We ask you to please open your hearts and support our Shul so Chabad of West Hills can continue to offer physical assistance and spiritual guidance to our community. Let us strengthen our resolve to keep the flame of Judaism in West Hills blazing beautiful and bright in the coming year!
Your donation will help people in our community hear the heart-stirring notes of the shofar at the end of Yom Kippur or participate in a Yizkor service for their dearly departed. It will help sponsor our Sukkah mobile that will be visiting shopping malls and people at home, to help them shake the Lulav and Etrog. With your help, many more precious people will celebrate the traditions, and feel at peace, knowing that someone does care.
Whether it's $100, $180, or $360, or even $1,800, you'll help sponsor the High Holidays this year. As a community, we need to muster up every available resource to make the most of the time that we have together and to take care of each other.
