Rozanne and Jonathan Burstein have been married for 38 years and have built a life centered on family, Jewish tradition, and community. From the beginning of their marriage, Shabbos and Jewish values have been at the heart of their home, guiding how they raised their family and the choices they have made.
They are blessed with three daughters—Danielle, Talia, and Eliana—two sons-in-law (SONS), Aaron and Jason, and three grandchildren (so far) who bring them immense joy: Amichai, Ezra, and Shai.
Rozanne’s journey began in Johannesburg South Africa, where she attended King David Day School before immigrating to the United States in 1979 carrying with her a strong foundation of Jewish learning and pride. Jonathan grew up in Minneapolis, where tradition and Shabbos observance were woven into everyday life. His move to Los Angeles in 1985 marked the start of a new chapter, one that would eventually lead to building a family deeply connected in the San Fernando Valley.
When they married in 1987, they committed to creating a home centered on Jewish life. Years later, what began as a search for a new shul led them—most unexpectedly—to Chabad of West Hills. Jonathan attended Kressa’s baby naming, and the Burstein’s never left. Rozanne soon became deeply involved, co-chairing two memorable and successful galas, while both she and Jonathan became familiar faces at Shabbos minyan.
Professionally, Jonathan owns a marketing firm and serves as a real estate agent in the San Fernando Valley. Rozanne, retired from a career as a Family Office Manager of 27 years, dedicates her time to her family, particularly her grandchildren, and remains closely involved in community life.
On a personal note: “Rabbi Avi, Rebbetzin Dena, Menachem, Kressa, Sholom, and Mimi—have profoundly enriched our lives and have become such an important part of our family. The warmth and genuine care they have shown us, has created an eternal bond. We have celebrated each of our families simchas- officiating two of our weddings, a Bat Mitzvah and two Brit Milas. We have also shared our joys and tribulations and have watched each of our families grow. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering dedication, the way they uplift and inspire those around them, and the selflessness they demonstrate each and every day in service of our community. Rabin family, we adore you and bless you with revealed blessings, success in all you do, health, simcha and chassidishe nachas. It should all culminate with the coming of Mashiach speedily in our days!”
